Dr. Lorenzo Ku is a distinguished Filipino-Chinese entrepreneur, diplomat, educator, and philanthropist whose lifelong contributions have greatly influenced economic development, international cooperation, education, and community service in the Philippines. Born on June 29, 1936, in Manila to Chinese-Filipino parents, Dr. Ku became widely recognized for his remarkable leadership in strengthening relations between the Philippines and the People’s Republic of China.

For decades, Dr. Ku has been acknowledged as a bridge builder who promoted goodwill, friendship, and constructive engagement between the two nations. His initiatives strengthened people-to-people relations and encouraged mutual understanding, cultural respect, and shared prosperity. Through his diplomatic and civic efforts, he became one of the most influential personalities in Philippines–China relations.

In 1972, Dr. Ku initiated programs aimed at deepening friendship and economic cooperation between the Philippines and China. A year later, in 1973, he helped establish the Philippine-China Understanding Association and the Filipino-Chinese Sports Promotion Association. Serving as Chairman, he actively supported programs and activities that promoted cooperation in economic, cultural, sports, and community development initiatives.

Dr. Ku also played an important role in strengthening unity within the Filipino-Chinese community by bringing together various civic organizations for common developmental and humanitarian purposes. His efforts fostered stronger cooperation, participation, and meaningful public service within the broader community.

In recognition of his contributions to business, diplomacy, and public service, Dr. Ku was also honored as a Filipino-Chinese Elite, named one of the 80 Outstanding Chinese Businessmen, and awarded an Honorary Doctorate from University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, among many other distinctions.

Driven by his vision for quality and accessible education, Dr. Ku established Royal British College, Inc. in 2007. Under his dynamic leadership, the institution evolved from a vocational training center into a recognized educational institution accredited by the Department of Education (DepEd), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Through affordable tuition fees, student-centered learning, and globally competitive programs, the institution continues to open opportunities and transform the lives of learners.

As the wife of Dr. Lorenzo C. Ku, Madam Anita K. Ku has played a significant role in supporting various business and educational endeavors. Her extensive experience in corporate leadership and global marketing has contributed to the growth and success of numerous organizations both locally and internationally.

Gwendolyn Ku Wong is a distinguished entrepreneur, public servant, and civic leader recognized for her commitment to educational excellence, business innovation, and community development. As the School President of Royal British College, Inc., she continues to lead the institution with a vision centered on academic quality, global competitiveness, and transformative leadership.

Known for her dynamic leadership and dedication to public service, Dr. Gwendolyn K. Wong is the only daughter among the four children of Dr. Lorenzo Ku and Madam Anita Ku. She is widely respected for her achievements in business, education, and governance. A consistent Dean’s Lister during her academic years, she earned her degree in Legal Management from Ateneo de Manila University, where she demonstrated excellence in both academics and leadership.

Her passion for service and community engagement led her into public office, where she was elected as the 3rd highest-ranking City Councilor of Lipa City from 2016 to 2019. Despite being considered a newcomer in politics at the time, she earned the trust and confidence of the people through her dedication, integrity, and active participation in local governance.

In the field of business and education, Dr. Gwendolyn K. Wong has continuously expanded her influence as President of Fiesta World Mall Corporation and President of Royal British College, Inc. Her leadership reflects her commitment to innovation, sustainable growth, and empowering future generations through quality education.

Dr. Gwendolyn K. Wong further strengthened her academic and professional credentials by earning both her Master in Business Administration and Doctor in Business Administration degrees from Philippine Christian University. Her educational background, combined with extensive experience in business and governance, continues to inspire students, professionals, and community leaders alike.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Dr. Wong remains actively involved in civic organizations and national associations. She currently serves in several leadership positions, including Vice President for External Affairs of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President of the Civil Society Organization Federation. She also contributes significantly to cultural and sports development through her involvement with the Philippine Dance Sport Federation and she also serve as one of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Dance Sports Federation.

Her commitment to public service extends to consultancy and diplomatic roles, including her appointment as Consultant on Business Development and Consultant on Local Investment Promotion for the Office of the City Mayor of Lipa.
